January’s Film: The Price of Freedom

The Price of Freedom explores how the National Rifle Association (NRA) has greased the wheels of power, flexed its muscles of influence, and stoked the public war over the last half-century to create, sustain, and feed a mythology –
that the freedom to protect themselves, to be an individual, to be an American in the spirit that the Founding Fathers intended.

However, from our earliest days in the 1600s through the 1800s a plethora of widely supported gun control laws were on the books.

This documentary breaks down the narrative the NRA has deployed to further its all-guns-all-the-time agenda and foster a culture war to ask what is The Price of Freedom?

There will be a discussion immediately following the film led by Toni Shellen. Toni
is the chair of the Tri-Cities chapter of Brady (bradyunited.org).
