Pastor Youngmi Jung
Rev. Youngmi Jung joined Fremont UMC in July 2021. Prior to her arrival, Pastor Youngmi worked as a chaplain resident at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and had served as director of youth and family ministry at a United Methodist Church in Berkeley and as a pastor in Novato.
Her calling to ministry began during college, but she spent 15 years working in the business field in South Korea before coming to pursue her Master of Divinity degree at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California. Throughout her ministry, Youngmi has been passionate about children and youth ministry, small group ministry, designing worship services, justice ministries, and helping the church serve the local community.
Pastor Youngmi is married to Rev. Seung-Heung Yang, who serves another United Methodist Church in California. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, walking, gardening, playing ping-pong, listening to music, cooking, and inviting people to share meals together.
